Hi, I’m Emilie, the founder of Final Coat Painting and Staining.

I have been involved in home renovation since I was a teenager, maintaining my grandparent’s century home on a farm in Port Perry in between tenant turnover. This involved wallpaper removal, drywall and plaster fixes, wallpaper installation when walls were a little rough, and of course, lots of painting.

Fast forward and I’m working on my undergraduate degree as a Registered Nurse. My brother is running a seasonal painting company and with little convincing, I decided to oversee his jobsites throughout my studies. Four years later, I took what I thought to be my dream job at Sunnybrook, working in surgical oncology. As painting season approached the following spring, my brother had a lot more convincing to do to get me to come back for one last season, but I did. I admitted to myself that the hospital wasn’t where I wanted to be, and that summer I got the idea of starting Final Coat, as a full-time, year-round painting and staining company. I retained his entire staff as he moved on to his next chapter, and incorporated Final Coat Painting and Staining later that year.

I love what I do. I’ve learned a lot while being hands on and have gathered a team that transform more and more homes every year. As we grow our name, we strive to maintain the same values of honest work and excellence in quality that have mattered since the start, working for family.
